Petrobras Announces Significant Oil Discoveries in Brazil

Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras has reported significant hydrocarbon discoveries in the Campos and Santos basins, as well as the Buzios field. These findings, made in February and March 2025, include the Aram block in the Santos basin, the Norte de Brava block in the Campos basin, and a well in the western region of the Buzios field. While final tests are ongoing, these discoveries could potentially accelerate Petrobras’ peak production plans by a year. Additionally, the company is considering a tender to charter a new production vessel for the Buzios field, expected to be announced publicly in the first half of 2025. Reuters
